Aviad Dotan


Son of Pnina and Shabtai. He was born on April 22, 1981 in Moshav Nir Galim, near Ashdod. A younger brother Lord and Ayelet. When he was five, his sister Chen was born. Aviad was named after his grandfather Avraham, who died years before his birth. Aviad grew up in Nir Galim. He studied at the elementary school in Kvutzat Yavneh and went on to high school in Yeshivat Bnei Akiva in Meron, in the north of the country, where he followed his good friend, Yishai Carlebach. Although the weekly trips to Miron lasted many hours, but the wonderful scenery, friends and trips in the unfamiliar environment compensated Aviad for the distance from home. After graduating from high school, Aviad decided to study for a year in the Betar pre-military preparatory program, in order to become physically and spiritually strong before enlisting in the army. Aviad grew up in a loving and supportive family and family, grew up and became a proud family. He was always full of joie de vivre, with an infinite smile that caught up with his loved ones, whether they wanted it or not, with the happiness he had. He loved friends very much, and they were attracted to him like a magnet, they saw him as the central and connecting link of any group in which he was. Aviad grew up on the love of the country, and realized it on his many walks, hiking and car trips, trips alone and trips with groups of friends. During his spare time, Aviad worked on computers, and used to listen to varied music. In July 2001, Aviad enlisted in the IDF and was assigned to the Armored Corps, and after training he became a driver of the Merkava tank in the 7th Brigade, serving mainly in the Gaza Strip, and with the tight schedule, He recognized the importance of his work, his contribution to the state and his sense of mission, and this recognition, together with the support he received from his loving family, kept his daily smile. Aviad gave a breather for a few good days, “as they said: On September 28, 2002, Where he was buried in the military section of the Nir Galim cemetery and left behind his parents and three sisters: God.
