Aver, Raz
Son of Sharon and Brian. He was born on October 8, 1976 in Arad. The third son in the family, brother to Guy, Galit and Roy. Raz began his studies at the Ofarim school in Arad. His great dream was to participate and win the Tour de France. In 1990 he won the National Cup. In 1991 Raz joined the Israeli national team by bicycle and achieved very high achievements. He has won many prizes and has even been sent twice for competitions in Germany on behalf of the Israeli national team. During the years he was a member of the team, he made his mark on the bicycle industry in general, and his team from Alfei Menashe in particular. In 1994 he won the Tour Mitzpe Ramon. Before the army Raz traveled with his brother Guy to France. He loved motorbikes and competed with dirt bikes. He loved traveling, loved to eat and loved to cook. On 30 March 1995, Raz enlisted in the Paratroopers Brigade and was accepted by the infantry reconnaissance unit and began his difficult training course, but due to problems with his knees he was forced to retire. Raz died in the course of his duty on 20 June 1997 in a car accident that took place on the Amiad-Kadarim road. Raz was twenty-one years old when he fell, and was laid to rest in the military section of the Alfei Menashe cemetery, leaving his parents, two brothers and a sister.
