Omri, son of Rivka and Rafael, was born on 25.4.1953 in Gesher Haziv, where he completed six years of elementary school in Magshimim, and then continued his elementary studies at the Pika School in Petach Tikvah And then went to the Mussinzon School in Magdiel, where he studied auto mechanics in a three-year framework, in addition to the regular subjects, and after leaving the army, he decided to go to work. He worked in the Nili factory in Kiryat Aryeh as a general locksmith and acquired the foundations of this profession. Omri was drafted into the IDF in early May 1971. After completing his basic training, he completed a reconnaissance course and parachuting course, and was trained and trained as a noncommissioned officer. Omri was known as a good soldier, brave and responsible. Every role he was assigned was complete and impeccable. His commanders knew that he could be trusted and valued greatly for his qualities and accomplishments, while his comrades in the company loved him and asked for his girlfriend. He was kind and acceptable to them for his honesty and willingness to help others, and because he was a good friend and true friend. His last post was a company sergeant. When the Yom Kippur War broke out, his unit was sent to fight on the Sinai front. The unit participated in the difficult battles against the Egyptians, and later in conquering various areas held by enemy forces. On October 16, 1973, during an attempt to conquer an Egyptian outpost on the “Lexicon” axis, in the Lokan area, the armored half-track from which Omri fought was killed and he was killed. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Survived by his parents and three brothers. After his fall, he was awarded the rank of First Sergeant. In his letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “Omri fell in the war with the Jewish people, and his death is the bloodbath that we were forced to pay for our freedom.” Omri, who had won the admiration of his friends, And it was not for nothing that the company’s company commander, who was first in the way to clear the target, was able to move to reach the destination, and when the thread of his life was hit by a direct hit on his car, one of the unit’s finest fighters fell.
