Attias, Moshe


Son of Gracia and David, was born on 12.11.1961 in Tirat Hacarmel, where he completed his elementary studies at the Degania School in his hometown, and then completed three years of study at the Shifman High School. Moshe began to work as an electrician with a contractor in Haifa, and he was a quiet, humble and modest boy who was always content with his youth and was satisfied with his part. He knew how to repair electrical instruments and tools, and was known as a “gold hand.” Everyone knew him as a warm and devoted family member, and Moshe devoted his spare time to help. He was always willing to help others, and his friends knew that they could count on him if they ever needed help and would always be able to turn to him. When he was drafted into the IDF, Moshe underwent a pre-military driving course and was trained as a driver In the army. He was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in early August 1979. After basic training, Moshe was sent to an air force base where he served as a driver, and he was a good soldier, responsible and dedicated. On 9 Elul, August 27, 1982, Moshe fell during his service and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. He left behind his parents, three brothers and three sisters. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “… in our unit, he fulfilled his duties as a driver and as such he diligently and effectively fulfilled every mission and assignment to which he was sent.” Beyond his job, he did not spare time and labor and always helped everyone.”
