Prior to joining the army, he studied for a year at the Ma’ale Efrayim pre-military academy. Yossi (“Yossi” by his loved ones) was a member and a guide in the Bnei Akiva youth movement and an outstanding athlete. He was a man who loved man with all his soul and stood out as a leader from his early childhood: “Friends are forever” was the sentence in his mouth, and Yossi proved that his mouth and heart were equal. He invested his friends above and beyond – loved, nurtured, cared for, and traveled with them. He always found time to pay attention to everyone, did not skip anyone and never stopped friendships. Yossi joined the IDF at the end of July 2003, when he began training as a combat soldier in the Paratroopers Brigade, underwent a paramedic course and was assigned as a medic in the paratroopers’ reconnaissance company.
