Athari, Adiv


Benny and Salem. Adiv was born in the modest town of Yemen on July 1, 1946. The family immigrated to Israel in 1949, to the British camp in Rosh Ha’Ayin, where Adiv studied in the Mori room until the age of seven, He served in the IDF and served in the Air Force at the Kirya in Tel Aviv, as a driver. Adiv enlisted for the first time in 1973. Six years later he left for a private business. He returned to the Israel Police in 1979 and served until his death. As a policeman, he served in Petah Tikva in various capacities. His last rank was First Sergeant. Adib fell during his service on the 13th of Cheshvan 5756 (November 5, 1995). He was forty-nine when he fell. He was buried in the Rosh Ha’ayin cemetery. In honor of Adiv, two years since his death, a commemorative evening was held at Petah Tikva. The booklet “Yizkor” was published in memory of Adiv by his commanders and his friends, and Adiv’s wife and sons donated a Torah scroll to his name “David and Solomon” on Nordoi Street in Petah Tikva.
