Atari, Shlomo
Son of Sa’ada and Jacob, was born in 1928 in Yemen and immigrated to Israel in 1943. Here he worked in various jobs, including two years in a British military camp. During the War of Independence he was drafted into the IDF, served in the 8th Brigade, participated in Operation Horev to remove the Egyptian army from Israel, and fell in battle near Rafah on January 7, 1949. He was buried in Mishmar Hanegev. On the 15th of Cheshvan 5710 (15.11.1949), he was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
