Keren fell during her service on 21.1.2006, a few weeks before her discharge from regular service. She is twenty and a half years old in the fall. She was laid to rest in the Herzliya military cemetery. Survived by parents and brother. After her fall she was promoted to First Sergeant. “We gathered here today, so many people – family, friends, colleagues and commanders, all for one purpose – to pay you last respects, Keren. Yesterday at midday, in the middle of a lovely summer winter day, we were all struck by the shock of having received the news of your untimely death. Now, though a day has passed, when we are standing in front of your last resting place, we are still having trouble digesting the great loss of your departure from us. During your service with us, you took part in all the tasks of the central unit, while contributing to other areas that you were not responsible for. All the time there is still shade. Since you came to us about two years ago, you have stood out in your pleasant manner, diligence and coolness, which were so important for carrying out the tasks we carry out. All this quietly and modestly that characterized you so much. It is not for nothing that you have received good assessments from your commanders. “She said,” Karen, my angel, this is not a farewell letter but a thank you. Thank you for the wonderful friendship that will last forever. About the wonderful memories and moments we shared. Know that you are part of my heart and soul. No matter how big the physical distance between us, the membership was many times more. Keep up. You are created in my heart, loving with all my heart, your friendship forever. “
