His father was an artist and loved painting, he studied magazines to keep up with the latest fashion, and he read a lot of literature about adolescence, and he helped his friends and especially helped him with his technical skills to solve problems with repairing devices. Went on organized trips and took part in a flying school, and spent many hours on the beach and surfing. He had a great love for the sea. In mid-March 1991, he enlisted in the IDF, volunteered for the Givati ​​Brigade and was assigned to the Shaked Battalion, where he underwent a long and difficult training course, at the end of which he was assigned to the battalion’s battalion company. (25.10.1992) was killed in a battle in Lebanon, and a convoy of IDF vehicles, including two safari trucks, a jeep and two command cars and water tankers, was hit by a roadside bomb that was detonated by remote control. The explosion killed five IDF soldiers, including Avi, who was buried in the military cemetery in Nahariya, and his parents, Yossi and Meir and sister Orly, who was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant after his death. His family donated a Torah scroll in memory of the synagogue in Akko, and published a booklet in his memory, including the words of friends about his character. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “My father was a proud soldier, the purple cap was his pride, and his commanders were proud of him.” His friends asked: “How did the heroes fall, a cursed side-charge in the land of the cedars, and a young soldier who loved him from life?” .
