Asraf, Eran


Son of Fanny and Solomon. He was born on August 10, 1977 in Kiryat Gat, to brother Itzik, Roi, Ben and Shagib. He began his studies at the Ben-Gurion elementary school in Kiryat Gat, and after the family moved to Bnei Brak, he completed his studies at the Remez high school. Eran was a very social and very friendly boy. Full of joie de vivre, loved to spend time, play soccer, take a walk, and take advantage of all the pleasure that life had given him in the company of his friends. Eran also knew, when necessary, to be serious and responsible, loved to help with the tasks of home and family and even his friends knew that you can contact him any problem and find a sympathetic ear and assistance. While in high school, Eran also participated in various party activities and in the public interest. After graduating from high school, while waiting for military service, Eran worked at a supermarket in Bnei Brak. In March 1996, Eran enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces and was transferred to a base in Beit-Nabala, where he served as a transport driver. “His service in the unit was impeccable,” wrote his commander, Lt. Col. Moti, “and it was clear that he performed his duties satisfactorily and showed a high personal level.” On December 29, 1997, Eran was killed in a road accident that occurred on the Trans- . He was twenty years old when he died. Eran was laid to rest in the Kiryat Shaul Military Cemetery, where he was survived by his parents and four brothers, and the chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Amnon Lipkin-Shahak, wrote to the family: “Eran was described by his commanders as an outstanding soldier, His role is in the best possible way, while showing responsibility and seriousness to their full satisfaction.
