Asraf, Daniel


Daniel (Danny), son of Phoebe and Simon, was born on 6.10.1954 in Sefi, Morocco, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1962. Daniel was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in early August 1972 and volunteered for the Artillery Corps, where he completed a field artillery training course and was assigned to one of the IAF units, and he fulfilled all the tasks assigned to him. During the Yom Kippur War, Danny fought with his unit in the battles of containment on the Suez Canal and participated in crossing the Suez Canal. On October 20, 1973, he was injured in the shelling west of the Canal and was killed. He was brought to rest in the cemetery in Be’er Sheva. Survived by his parents, four brothers and a sister. After his fall, he was promoted to sergeant.
