Aslan (Shemesh), George

Son of-Shmuel-George and Esther. He was born on August 25, 1940 in Basra, Iraq. Two weeks before his birth, his father died and the son was named after him. At the age of nine, he immigrated to Israel through Persia. His grandparents adopted him and he was their son. He was educated in Hadasim Youth Village. He fell in the course of his duty on 20 October 1959. He was brought to rest at the military cemetery in Netanya, where the Youth Aliyah, Hadasim and his parents established a library in his name in Hadasim Youth Village. His classmates in Hadasim published a book “To His Image.”
