Ashtivkar, Chaim

Ashtivkar, Chaim

Son of Raymond and Esther. He was born in 1948 in India and immigrated to Israel alone in 1968, because he wanted to live in Israel and especially wanted to serve in the army, after he immigrated to Kibbutz Shefayim, where he was a sociable guy who loved society and entertainment, singing and dancing. He was drafted into the IDF in April 1969 and assigned to the Engineering Corps. On 27 June 1971, after serving for two and a half years, he fell in the line of duty and was brought to eternal rest in the Ramle cemetery. He longed for his parents to immigrate to Israel, but this was not possible. They immigrated to Israel only after they fell – and did not get to see him.
