Ashkenazi David (“Dahood”)


David, son of Reuven and Najia Ashkenazi, was born on July 15, 1938 in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq. In 1950 the family immigrated to Israel. He was drafted into the IDF in February 1960. In the army, he underwent a course of cooks and training until his regular service, and when he was discharged he went to reserve duty and served faithfully and with dedication. When the Six Day War broke out, on the second day of the War, 6.6.1967, David fell and was buried in the military cemetery in Afula. He was later transferred to the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
