Arre, Gedaliah

The only son of Victoria and Eliahu was born on 27.9.1927 in Istanbul, Turkey and immigrated to Israel in 1935. He attended the Bialik elementary school in Tel Aviv and two years at the Max Payne Vocational School He was trained in plumbing, but was forced to stop his studies in order to support his parents, who was so devoted to his ambition that he gave up his job and was promoted to the rank of foreman. “Maccabi” joined the ranks of the Hagana before 29.11.1947 (previously belonged to Lehi). Dreamed the dream of Israel’s free army and dedicated his life to his vision. On the 27th of Kislav, December 10, 1947, he was arrested with his friends in the Magen area in the Manshiyeh area on the Tel Aviv-Jaffa border and after being released from their detention at the Neveh Shalom police station, he was killed by British bullets. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
