Arnhem, Miriam

Daughter of Hannah and Martin, was born on November 30, 1929 in Germany and immigrated to Israel with her parents in August 1933. She visited the school in Kfar Malal until 1944, went to the training farm in Petach Tikvah and from there to a training program in Ashdot Jacob was sent to a special course of the kibbutz administration at the end of the War of Independence, when her group was transferred to Safed and its base was established in Beit-Bossel. On March 12, 1948, when she finished her work in the kitchen, after an effort of many hours, she sat on the porch of the fortress and sang in And a few hours later she was transferred to the hospital, where the road was in danger because of the gangs of murderers who were roaming the area, who lay on her deathbed for a week, and all the doctors’ efforts to save her failed. On March 20, 1948, the seventh day after her injury, she had to be operated on again, and this operation did not arise again. Miriam was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Safed.
