Arida, Anwar
Son of Hussein and Haniyeh. Was born on 25 January 1953. He attended the elementary school in Kfar Majar and the high school in the village of Eilabun in the Lower Galilee and was very much loved by his teachers and friends. He had a special inclination to sport and public work, and he was a member of the first battalion of the Gadna, a very sociable person who behaved like a young man and an old man with old people – and everyone loved him because of his generosity and his willingness to always help others. He respected the religious traditions of the community, respected the clerics, and forbade doing anything that was forbidden: He was able to welcome guests and be kind to everyone, and he was the main supporter of his family and bore all responsibility for his welfare despite being young and single. Anwar was drafted into the IDF in mid-May 1971 and in the short time he served was a good soldier, disciplined and pretty Yekne. On July 27, 1971, about two months after his enlistment, he died in the line of duty. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in the village of Majar.
