Argi, Aharon

Born in 1955 in Yemen, Aharon immigrated to Israel with his parents in August 1961. He completed his elementary studies in Rehovot, where he lived, and then decided to study a profession. When he went to work in order to help his parents to support the family, he was a devoted and loving son and a caring brother, and he divided his salary into two. He had a broad smile, loved people, never raised his hand on anyone, and never raised his voice to anyone. Aaron was drafted into the IDF in mid-February 1973 and assigned to the Armored Corps. After completing basic training, he was sent to the Armored Corps School, where he completed a tank training course and was certified as a tank driver. Afterward, he was assigned to the reconnaissance company of the Armored Corps, where he underwent a reconnaissance course and was trained as a soldier of the armored infantry company, a good soldier who was loyal and disciplined, and was well liked and accepted by his comrades. When the Yom Kippur War broke out, his unit was sent to clean up the Kantara area from Egyptian commando soldiers stationed there on October 6, 1973. At the time of the movement towards Kantara his APC was hit directly and he was killed. His body was found and he was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Rehovot, leaving behind his parents, five brothers and a sister. After falling he was given the rank of corporal.
