At the beginning of 1948, Israel enlisted in the army and was assigned to the 33nd Battalion of the Alexandroni Brigade, during Operation “Horev,” an operation was carried out on the eastern flank of the ” Of the “pocket” in the area of ​​Iraq al-Manshiyya, the Alexandroni forces broke into the village from the south and took control of it, but their assault on the hill north of the village was repulsed. And on the 28th of Kislev, 5708 (December 28, 1948), Israel fell, and after the battle the enemy buried our dead in a mass grave marked around Faluja. A year later, Israel’s coffin was transferred to the Nahalat Yitzhak military cemetery, commemorating the heroes of the War of Independence.
