Arad, David (“Dudi”)


Son of Eddie and Ruth. He was born on June 24, 1956, in Kibbutz Einat. In 1959 he moved with his mother to Kibbutz Hamadia, where he attended elementary school. In 1964 he moved to live with his father in Ramat Gan. He completed his high school studies at the ORT vocational school in Givatayim, specializing in building and architecture. David, or my uncle in the words of his friends, was a quiet and kind boy, very humble in his demands. At school he was a good disciplined student and accepted by the children. He was a member of the Hanoar Haoved movement. When his father fell ill, he treated him with devotion, and during his military service he devoted all his vacations to the care of the father. At the beginning of July 1974 David was drafted into the Academic Reserve. He began his service in the Israel Defense Forces in 1976 and was assigned to the Armored Corps, where he completed a tank course and a tank commander course, serving as a tank driver, as a cargo loader and a tank noncom. According to his commanders, he was “a good soldier with a higher than average personal level,” but he found his proper place in the Intelligence Corps, and after completing a course for officers and officers of the Intelligence Corps, both of them with high grades, served as an intelligence officer in the Armored Corps and joined the unit Which was in the Sinai, on February 27, 1979.)
