When she was 15 years old, Keren dropped for the first time in a free fall accompanied by a guide at the Habonim beach. This bold activity captivated her and at the age of 16 she had successfully completed a skydiving course and had accumulated 40 parachutes, the last of which she performed a week before her death. During this period, Keren underwent a first aid course and volunteered regularly for activities in the framework of Magen David Adom in the Krayot. At the age of 17, she completed a course to operate a mobile first aid station in cooperation with the Gadna, the Medical Corps and Magen David Adom, and acquired extensive knowledge in resuscitation and first aid. In June 1996, prior to her induction into the IDF, she was awarded a certificate of appreciation for her great volunteer work in MDA: “With your conscription into the IDF, we thank you for your devotion and spirit of volunteerism during your work in our framework.” , With all her actions emanating from the depths of her heart, with ease and seriousness, hardness but playfulness and grace, devotion and perseverance, surrounded by friends who admired her and enjoyed being with her at all times. After basic training, she underwent a training course for nuclear, biological and chemical weapons, which she successfully completed. During this course, Keren demonstrated its unique qualities: leadership, friendship and in-depth knowledge. At the end of the course she was placed in a training base as a gas instructor, and her commanders saw her as a responsible soldier who aspired to excellence in all her endeavors and performed her duties with skill and diligence, while showing her dedication and personal ability. In MDA in her spare time, and of course her connections with her many friends and family, with whom she had a warm and special relationship. On July 21, 1997, when she was preparing to instruct soldiers on their way to Lebanon, Keren fell while she was on duty. She was laid to rest in the military section of the Tzur Shalom cemetery.
