Angel, Ovadiah

Son of Kochba and Avraham was born on the 2nd of Tishrai, September 24, 1930 in Salonika, Greece, and he immigrated to Israel with his parents in 1934. At the end of 1947 Ovadiah was wounded during an operation in Abu Kabir. He was injured again, this time in his hand, and was unable to participate in the campaign against Jaffa, but when Etzel forces attacked Ramle. Ovadiah was impatient to wait until his hand was completely healed and joined the ranks of the fighters. On the 4 Sivan 5708 (June 11, 1948) he fell in battle, on the 11th of Iyar 5712 (6.5.1952) he was laid to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
