The son of Shmuel and Rina, born on August 18, 1942 in Cairo, Egypt, immigrated to Israel with his family in 1957. Yaakov was a hardworking and diligent boy and from his childhood he aspired to greatness, and began his studies at the Jewish community school After completing his studies at the agricultural high school in Nahalal, he decided to transfer to the Air Force Technical School in Haifa, where he completed his matriculation exams. He joined the Scouts youth movement, first in Egypt and later in Israel, where he liked to read literature and professional literature, was interested in painting and astrology, and was a regular member of the Scouts Service. During the course of his studies at the Air Force Technical School, he was associated with airplanes, mechanics, and everything related to the handling and maintenance of airplanes, so he intended to serve in the IDF in the framework of the air force. Yaakov was drafted into the IDF in May 1960 and volunteered for the air force and was sent to an Air Force base after serving as an electrician, and upon his discharge he assumed the role of breadwinner in the family and was accepted to work at the Kmg Dimona. In 1964, he married Sarah, and two years later his first daughter, Ronit, was born, and Jacob missed the IDF and his military service, so he decided to volunteer for the career army. He began his regular service with the rank of First Sergeant and several years later, when he reached the rank of captain, he was sent to help build a new base of the IAF in Sinai as commander of the systems division. Yaakov proposed many ideas for improving and streamlining military processes and procedures, initiating new forms of use and gaining great appreciation for his activities. In his opinion on Yaakov, his commanders wrote: “Yaakov is a diligent and devoted soldier, who reveals his initiative in carrying out his duties and professional knowledge, is honest and trustworthy in the professional field and identifies with his goals. exemplary”. Alongside his military advancement, Jacob took care of his family and did not abandon his role as a devoted and loving husband, and worried about his daughters. In the few leisure hours he had spent with them, he made sure that they were successful in their studies and helped them with everything. He even spurred his wife to study in the evening and did her part in the house so that she could attend her studies. On the 29th of Cheshvan 5737 (29.10.1976) Yaakov fell in the course of his duties in the south of Israel and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Rishon Letzion, leaving behind a wife, three daughters and a mother.
