Anaki, Avia
Avia, son of Orit and Emanuel Ankai, was born on 14.4.1993 in Jerusalem. Avia studied in the religious educational institutions, the Noam Elementary School and Noam Junior High School in Ramot. Later, he studied at the Arzim High School in Itamar and in “Menifah-Yitzhar”. Avia loved the country and walked its paths. In Wadi Ramot he breathed in mountain air and found rest and relaxation in the quiet and the landscape. From a young age he traveled a lot through the hills of the Shomron. When he grew up and studied at the “Arshim” yeshiva, he visited all the springs in the area. He joined the IDF on March 18, 2014, and became a combat engineering fighter. He began his service in the Lahav Battalion, and after four months he graduated to the ZM course in stage 07 and completed it as an outstanding trainee.
When he drove on Route 60, inside the village of Hawara in the Shomron, Avia slipped with his motorcycle and collided with a bus. The vehicle ran over him, and the rescuers found him unconscious, without a pulse. Avia died during his service on the 17th of Kislev (November 29, 2015.) He was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl, Jerusalem.
