Ana’im, Ala Al-Din

Son of Nazmiya and Salim. He was born on February 4, 1976, in the village of Arab An’im, near Nazareth. Ala studied in an elementary school in Nazareth and continued to study for another three years in the city’s junior high school. After completing ninth grade, he studied for three years at the ORT school in Nazareth, in the automotive mechanics course. Ala was an outstanding student in his class. He loved science lessons and also liked to play sports and watch movies. Ala was loved by his friends at school, and in gym classes they called him “The Black Panther.” He liked to play soccer, and for his excellent game he received a trophy, and they also wrote a song for him, recorded on tape. Ala was tall, handsome, with smooth skin and a constant smile on his face. There were never signs of anger in his face. He liked to help people in general and his brothers in particular. Already as a boy he realized that his family’s financial situation was difficult, and during the summer vacations he went to work to help support the family. After graduating from the army, he worked as a laborer in Kibbutz Gvat, and Ala’s father admired him very much, and despite the young age of his son, he always consulted with him on every subject. Was to serve in the IDF. He watched military films, the video he bought with the money he earned in his work. At the beginning of August 1995, Ala volunteered to serve in the Israel Defense Forces, and he began his service with a patrol unit that secures the borders of the south and served as a machine gunner in his department. He was a disciplined soldier and offered everyone a helping hand. Ala wanted very much to serve as a parachutist, and tried in every way to get what he wanted. He hoped to attend an officers ‘course that would allow him to reach the paratroopers’ unit, but his wish was not fulfilled. On November 15, 1995, during a stretcher journey, during the training of the unit, Ala was injured by a 40mm bullet, and a few days later, on November 22, 1995, he died of his wounds when he was 19. Ala was laid to rest in the Nazareth cemetery, And eight brothers and sisters – Samar, Difa ‘, Yusuf, Rim, Sayil, Asala, Muhammad and Ahmad.
