Amzaleg, Victor (Chaim)
Chaim the youngest son of Yitzchok and Masoda, was born on the 11th of Shevat, January 24, 1956 in Morocco. A few months after the family immigrated to Israel, in 1962, the father of the family died, and the mother and six sons and six daughter settled in Ashdod. Victor was drafted into the IDF at the end of July 1973. For various reasons, he was unable to fulfill his dream of being a pilot, but was consoled by the fact that his profession, an aircraft mechanic, allowed him to handle the aircraft and be close to them. In the course of his service, Victor was very attached to his mother and would visit her daily providing financial and emotional help. On the 10th of Iyar, May 10, 1976, Victor fell in the line of duty. He was laid to rest in the military section of the cemetery in Ashdod. He was survived by a mother, five brothers and six sisters. In his letter of condolence to the bereaved mother, his commander said: “Victor proved himself to be a devoted soldier throughout his service and especially in the Yom Kippur War.
