Amzaleg, Abraham (‘Avi’)


Son of Meir (born in Morocco) and Hanna. He was born on December 30, 1958 in Moshav Rehov. He studied at the Bikura elementary school in Moshav Rehov and continued, for one year, at a yeshiva in Kfar Chabad, and later in Hodis, a religious high school with a boarding school, near Kibbutz Lavi in ​​the Lower Galilee. His induction into the IDF. My father hesitated about whether to request a postponement of his military service in order to help his father in the farm. But in the end he decided to enlist. After basic training he was assigned to the Paratroopers Brigade. He participated in Operation Litani. On the 17th of Nisan, 5738 (April 24, 1978) Avraham fell in the line of duty. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Moshav Street. Survived by his parents, brothers and sisters. As a soldier, his commander noted in his own words: “He was always willing to lend a hand to the help of his friends, he encouraged and assisted them, he was an exemplary soldier, disciplined and obedient.
