Amsalem, Yoram


Yoram, son of Carmela and Nathan Amsalem, was born in 1963, in Nahariya. At a young age he had a serious road accident, and after that he found it difficult to get back to normal. At the beginning of May 1981 he was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces and was assigned to the Artillery Corps, where he was sent to serve in the vicinity of his home until his release from the IDF. At the beginning of June 1986, Yoram was called to reserve duty in armored corps. On the 5th of Iyar (5.6.1986) he fell while carrying out his duties. He was buried in the military section of the Tzur Shalom cemetery. He left behind a mother and two brothers. His family purchased a Torah scroll to commemorate his memory, which was placed in the Nahalat Avot synagogue in Kiryat Bialik.
