Amsalem, Eli


Son of Shalom and Miriam. He was born in the city of Meknes in Morocco on July 8, 1940. He immigrated to Israel in 1952 and completed his studies in elementary school, where he studied diamonds and during his time he was involved in marine sports, Zevulun. “In August 1958 he was drafted into the IDF and served in the Armored Corps. He was a crew member in a tank during the Six-Day War. Before he fell in the battle that took place at the entrance to Qatima on the Abu Agila road during a bombing from the air, on the 26th day of Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967), the second day of the battles, he destroyed an Egyptian tank. He left a wife and a soft baby. He was buried in the military emergency cemetery in Bari and was later transferred to eternal rest in the Ashdod cemetery.
