Amoyal, Shimon
Son of Firha and Yehuda was born on September 18, 1958 in Safed. Shimon was the youngest son of his family, and therefore he was loved and very spoiled. When he was a member of a religious family, he studied at a religious elementary school called “Hari” and later went on to study in a comprehensive religious high school in carpentry – a profession he loved. As a youth Shimon participated in various circles, which took place at the Center for Culture and Youth in Safed, and often succeeded in attracting some of his friends to activities in this framework. Shimon was very attached to his parents and made sure they were well. He also had a special relationship with his little nephews. He told them stories and played with them whenever he had a chance. When Shimon was drafted into the IDF, he was stationed at a remote base from the house, but because of his concern for his older parents, he wanted to move him closer to the house, and wanted to be in close contact with the parents. 1980) Shimon fell during his service and was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Safed, where he left behind elderly parents, sisters, and brother and his parents donated a Torah scroll to the “Kibbutz Galuyot” synagogue in their neighborhood.
