In infancy, Nathan suffered from child paralysis, and there were many doubts about his development, but after a period of rehabilitation and a stubborn personal struggle that arose from his illness. Nathan was alert and developed, playful and graceful. At the age of five, he began his first year of studies. His childhood is full of marine, social and educational activities. In 1957 his family was sent by the Jewish Agency to Toronto Canada. In a short time he learned English and became part of the new society. He connected with children from various diasporas and became a social focus. Over time, he joined the Dror youth movement, which was headed by his parents. During vacations, he spent time with his family in summer camps and the winter of the movement. In the late 1950s the family returned from its mission to Kibbutz Sdot Yam. Nathan returned to his friends and studies and soon absorbed back in his childhood district. Two years later, the family moved to Jerusalem. Upon their arrival in the big city, Nathan joined the Hanoar Haoved movement and spent most of his free time there. He completed his elementary studies at Beit Hakerem and was accepted to the first graduating class at the Boyar High School in Jerusalem. He invested most of his energies and skills in the movement. He coordinated social and organizational activities, guided and organized trips. He soon became a popular figure among the city’s youth. His extensive activity in the movement hurt his normal studies, and he was forced to take the matriculation exams in an external track. In the middle of August 1968, Nathan was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces, where he was assigned to the Armored Corps, where he completed the course until the completion of a course in combat operations. He completed his studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, in Oriental and Bible circles, and was interrupted by the outbreak of the Yom Kippur War, when he was one of the first tankers to immigrate to the Golan Heights. Bitter battles, in which several teams were lost, his tank was hit, he was wounded and taken to a house After about two weeks, he fled from the hospital to rejoin the combat battalion, and after the fighting he tried to return to normal routine, but his mood and spirit did not meet. He went on a trip to the Far East for an indefinite period of time, and Nathan expanded his horizons and interests, and met extinct cultures, from India to Guinea The new. He paid his trips during periods of security work. Two years later he returned to Israel to his loving family in Jerusalem. He renewed his connections, expanded his circle of friends, and worked in his new profession as a tour guide in Israel and abroad. He completed his training in foreign languages ​​and at the same time specialized in the history of Christianity in Israel and abroad. During these years he married Hannah, who was widowed by his sister’s good friend and brother-in-law. He raised her three children – Amir, Assaf and Yael – a pain in every way. In 1988 Natan and Chana were born a man. The warm and extended family nest was the center of his world. In June 1990 he was called up for reserve duty in the Jenin area. On the 19th of Sivan 5740 (19.6.1990) Nathan fell in the line of duty. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. He left behind him, a woman, three sons and a daughter, a mother – Batya, and two sisters – Shua and Osnat. He was promoted to the rank of Major General after his death, and in a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the commander of the unit wrote: “Nathan,Pillars of the battalion. He was a personal example, professionally, responsibly and devotedly. The same qualities that stood out in the battlefield were conspicuous throughout the long years in ongoing security activities carried out by the battalion along the country’s borders. The connecting thread in all these tasks was the desire to help his friends. And so it happened in his last mission, from which he did not return. “
