Amon, Eli

Son of Naifah and Sayid, members of the Druze community. Was born on February 1, 1966, in the village of Yirka in the Western Galilee. Ali attended elementary school in his village. After completing his studies he worked in odd jobs in his village and surroundings. His main interest was in the painting he had learned from his brothers. He was inclined to do it with all his Lev, spent most of his time painting and dreamed of being an international painter. Prior to his induction, he even managed to display his paintings in the exhibition. In February 1985, he volunteered to serve in the IDF and was assigned to the Armored Corps, where he was a quiet and polite young man who loved the military framework and aspired to contribute to the State, he did so with all his Lev and contributed greatly to the homeland and his village. In the paintings he painted the walls of the soldiers’ quarters and the entrance to his base, where he left his mark on his paintings, and he liked about him and appreciated his artistic talent, and had about 50 paintings that he intended to display at a large exhibition at the ZOA in Tel Aviv. A day before the opening of the exhibition, on December 29, 1986, Ali fell during his service. His brother completed the exhibition after his fall and the exhibition took place in Yarka and was very successful. Ali was brought to rest in the military section of the cemetery in his village of Yirka. Survived by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
