Wissam was a kind boy, a dominant figure among his friends, who always thought about how he could help others and the community in which he lived. Wissam studied in the village, where he graduated as an excellent student at the Peqi’in High School. Wissam was not only an outstanding student, but also a talented athlete, especially in the soccer field. He spent many hours training and games and even organized games for the youth in the community. Wisam’s dream was to study sports professionally at the Wingate Institute and return to Peki’in as a gym teacher, thus contributing to the field in which he is talented. Wissam spent much of his free time in the “Scouts” movement in the village, took part in the various activities and even organized and initiated himself, always willing to help and support. Wissam was popular with all the villagers, members of all ethnic groups and religions. He treated him with great respect and politeness. Due to his mental maturity, his friends consulted with him on various issues and talked to him about their problems, and he, as a large, responsible and intelligent brother, listened attentively and took care of all his friends around him. In August 1994, Wissam enlisted in the Givati Brigade and was quickly integrated into the military framework and loved it, and Wissam proved himself to be an excellent soldier and a friend of his commanders and fellow soldiers, and planned to go to an officers’ course. He was evacuated to Soroka Medical Center and four days later, on September 30, 1996, died of his wounds, and was killed by a sergeant named Amikam Amior, Staff Sergeant Dimitri Gerzadansky, Staff Sergeant Chen Koren And Sergeant Yehuda Levy. Wissam was buried in the Peki’in military cemetery. Survived by his parents and nine brothers and sisters – Salman, Jamil, Salwa, Jamila, Nada, Fadia, Yusra, Samia and Sami. Weissam’s commander said: “Wissam was a man who loved to help and help at all times, and there was always a smile on his face, even during the most difficult hours, and he aspired to excellence in every mission he was assigned to. And he served as a commander in the company after successfully completing a commanders’ course, and his responsibility and operational ability enabled him to command ambushes and various activities, never raising a voice or a hand on a soldier, He had never bragged about his position or the many assessments he had received from his commanders, such as Wissam-quiet, humble, knowing Law, very disciplined.
