Amar, Shimon
Son of Yosef and Rihanna. He was born in the city of Casablanca in January 1948. During his childhood, he studied there in “Hadar” and “Yeshiva” (“the mother of the sons”), where he studied for one year in a French school. She lived in the Jerusalem Corridor and moved to the town of Sderot where she studied and completed the religious elementary school, where he continued to study Torah and Crafts in Netivot. He also studied frames and engravings, he excelled in his talents and his tendencies, especially in the art field, he was pleasant and very well-mannered, and at the boarding school where he lived in high school, After three years of high school, it was decided to close the class from dropping out of school, so Shimon decided to study at the vocational training seminary and specialize in mechanical programs, but his plan was not to do so. It was realized that in February 1967 he had been drafted into the IDF and assigned to armored corps. He adapted well in the army and overcame difficulties in basic training and during the service. During the Six-Day War he was among the fighters on the southern front and during the fighting his unit moved to Kuneitra in the north. Where he worked in the workshop as a locksmith and mechanic until the 14th of Marcheshvan 5728 (17.11.1967), finding his death while carrying out his duties. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Sderot. In the year 5728, a pamphlet called “Friends of Numbers” was published, containing lines of the figure of Shimon Amar.
