Son of Yehudit and Charles. Born in Tel Aviv on June 10, 1967, David studied at the Ramat Hen Elementary School in Ramat Gan and at the ORT High School in Ramat Gan, and in late 1985 David was drafted into the IDF’s compulsory military service and at his request He was stationed in the Golani Brigade. David was the only son of his parents and was not required to serve in a combat unit, but he insisted on his right to serve in combat. He went on basic training in the Golani Brigade, and according to his commanders and friends, he became part of the platoon, became very fond of his comrades and his commanders greatly admired him.
