Alufi, Amiram
Son of Peretz and Leah. He was born on June 4, 1936 in Vilnius (Vilna), Poland. As a baby, the entire family immigrated to Israel. After completing his studies at the elementary school in Zichron Yaakov (where his father served as a teacher and later as a principal), he continued at the Bialik High School in Haifa, where he moved to the Haifa Air Force Technical School and finished. He belonged to the Young Maccabi. Was deeply involved in the life of the youth in Zichron Yaakov and the spirit in which they lived. His optimism pleased him with all his friends. In December 1953, he was drafted into the IDF and served in the Israel Air Force, and fell during the performance of his duties on 21 March 1956 – two months before his release – and was buried at the cemetery in Zichron Yaakov. His older brother, Elisha, fell in Sinai. The father dedicated his book “The Biblical Plays” (Massada Publishing, 1956) in his memory.
