Alshochat, Ronen

Ben Ruth (Rose) and Joseph. He was born on the 17th of Tevet 5727 (17.12.1974) in Ramle, the youngest son of his parents, brother to Shlomo and Shlomit, a tall, handsome young man, attended Achva Elementary School and Ramle Lod Municipal School, S. Bistritzky. In addition to his studies, he was a member of the Scouts movement. Ronen grew up in a lively home, with a warm and loving family. Was a very active boy. From an early age, he studied judo and persisted in it for many years, until he joined the army. When he decided to learn to play, he asked his parents to buy him a guitar, and with his own strength he learned to strangle her strings. Ronen liked basketball very much and played every opportunity he had. Three things were most important to Ronen: first of all the friends, his good friends with whom he spent most of his time, went out with them on walks and fun, together embroidered dreams and planned their future. Their favorite game was Dungeons and Dragons – a game in which Ronen and his friends would enter the world of imagination and sit for hours on end trying to solve problems and perform things a person who had no part in the group could not understand. The second most important thing for Ronen was his motorcycle. It was part of his dreams from an early age, and when he reached the right age he did realize the dream and bought a motorcycle. Ronen loved to ride the motorcycle, feel the wind hit his face and ‘rip the road’, travel in Israel and the world and see new places. And the last thing that was an inseparable part of Ronen was the cartoon he loved to paint. At any time, and wherever he was, Ronen took care of a page and a pencil, and took advantage of every minute available to draw and sketch characters of comics heroes, including characters from “The Dungeons and Dragons.” Ronen also tried to write a book. In August 1993, Ronen enlisted in the IDF, and his father and brother began fighting in the Nahal Brigade. But Ronen wanted not only to be a fighter, but also as a combat medic and to save lives. After much effort, he was accepted to a combat paramedics course, where he was successful and successfully completed. Ronen returned to his unit, and until the end of his regular service he served as a combat medic. After his discharge from regular service, Ronen studied economics and business administration at the College of Management in Rishon Letzion. At the same time, he worked as a security guard, and later on he was appended to the Courts Guard. Ronen, who spent his entire life thinking about works with a motif of helping others, also tried his luck in the police, in the national detective unit. He passed the tests successfully, but all his plans were prematurely interrupted. At the end of March 2002, before the start of Operation Defensive Shield, Ronen was recruited to reserve duty by order 8. He immediately arrived and was sent with his friends to fight in Samaria. On the 27th of Nisan 5762 (February 9, 2002) Ronen fell in battle in Jenin. In a unit citation issued by OC Central Command Major General Yitzhak Eitan, he described the battle: “During the fighting in the Jenin refugee camp, as one of the forces advanced towards a house, fire opened from several directions towards the force. In the ensuing battle, thirteen commanders and soldiers fell. The soldiers of the force he encountered, and another force that came to assist in the operation, fought valiantly to rescue their injured comrades until they were rescued. Despite the casualties, the company continued to fight until the surrender of the refugee camp. “Until the last moment of his life, Ronen continued to do what he always believed in and fought to do – to help and save lives. While he was trying to save the life of his friend, who was wounded a few minutes earlier: Major Oded Golomb, Captain Yaakov Azoulay, Captain Dror Bar, Lieutenant Eyal Yoel, Sergeant Major Tiran Arazi, Yoram Levi, Lt. Col. Amit Busidan, Major General Menashe Haba, Sergeant Shmuel Dani MYazlish, Sergeant Eyal Azouri and Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zimmerman. At the age of twenty-seven, Ronen was falling. After his death he was promoted to the rank of sergeant, and was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Ramle, and was survived by his parents, brother and sister.
