Aloni, Herzl


Son of Sarah and Shabtai. Born in Cordoba, Argentina, on December 27, 1916, he spent the first years of his childhood in the home of his grandfather and uncle in the village of Moisesville, and in 1922 his parents decided to immigrate to Israel. The family settled in Tel Adashim and settled in Moshav Kfar Yehezkel in 1928. Herzl studied at the moshav school and was diligent in his studies and diligence in the field of agriculture, and completed his high school studies at the vocational school of the Technion in Haifa. He returned to work in the farm in Kfar Yehezkel His passion for nature is expressed in his writings: “… work is the only connection between us and nature … a people that is not connected to nature and to the land is not Can hold on because nature is the ruler of us. “And the writer Eliezer Shamali says of him:” … because he loved plants and animals, was rooted in his soul and Lev in the nature of his country and village. “Herzl also took an active part in preserving and protecting fields in the entire region. On 21 June 1938, he took part in a patrol tour in the fields of Abelak, north of the Geva group, near Moshav Kfar Yehezkel. The tour was attacked by Arabs from ambush and Herzl was hit and killed. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Kfar Yechezkel. Survived by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. Herzl’s nephew – Roy Rotberg – fell in Nahal Oz in 1950, another nephew – Shoshu (Yehoshua) Tavori of Yokneam – fell in the War of Attrition. The residents of Kfar Yehezkel took out a booklet containing material from his notebook, which was collected from his notebooks by the youth in the moshav.
