Alman, Abraham
Son of Perla and Mendel. Avraham (Maylo) was born in Romania on December 12, 1928. Was the youngest son of his parents, with two brothers and a sister. He received a Zionist education and learned Hebrew from his youth. During World War II the family was exiled from their hometown. His father died and Avraham enlisted to help with the burden of his family’s existence. After the war, Avraham boarded the “Pan York” ship, which was seized off the coast of Israel and taken to Cyprus. In the camp he was recruited by emissaries from Palestine to train youth in defense exercises. In 1949, upon his immigration to Israel, Avraham enlisted in the Israel Police. During his service, Avraham fulfilled many tasks with loyalty and devotion, and saw them as the fulfillment of a Zionist mission: the head of a tour and operations bureau; Head of Drug and Moral Division; Head of Investigations and Claims Division at the Youth Division. In 1966 he was appointed to be a prosecutor in the courts, in accordance with the law. He served as head of the traffic branch in the Tel Aviv district, where he was appointed head of the traffic department at national headquarters, and in the thirteenth year of the state, Avraham received a commendation from President Yitzhak son of-Zvi. Commander Avraham died during his service in Av, 5733 (August 19, 1973). Forty-five years old. He was buried in the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, Tel Aviv. He left a wife and two daughters, a mother and a sister. After his death, Avraham was awarded the Police Service Medal.
