Almadon, Amitai


Son of Esther and Yoram. He was born on October 8, 1976 in Petah Tikva, brother to Efrat, Eilat and Almog. Amitai grew up and was educated in the city. He began his studies at the PIKA elementary school, continued in the junior high school “Ahad Ha’am” and completed successfully at the “Ahad Ha’am” high school, in economics and political science, and was an outstanding athlete who loved the sea and rock music He had extensive knowledge and education, used to read encyclopedias, history books, biographies of political leaders and military commanders, and focused mainly on military history and the wars of Israel. He was a combat soldier in the Givati ​​Brigade and later a company commander in a track company, and Amitai was a fascinating conversationalist on every issue. On 14 Elul, August 29, 1996, Amitai fell in battle in Lebanon, in a clash with terrorists near the Karkum outpost in the western sector of the Gaza Strip Amati was laid to rest in the Kiryat Shaul military cemetery and was promoted to the rank of sergeant after his death. He was twenty years old when he fell. He was survived by his parents and three sisters. After Amitai’s death, his brothers, Eitam and Elad were born. In a letter of consolation to the family, Chief of Staff Amnon Lipkin-Shahak wrote: “Amitai served in the Givati ​​Brigade’s Sabra Battalion and was described by his commanders as a smart and serious soldier who served as a personal example for those around him.”
