Alkobi, Hannah (I)
Esther and Shalom. She was born on March 29, 1978 in Jerusalem. Hannah was born with the establishment of the city of Ariel and was a joy and light for her family. Hannah’s kindergarten teacher remembers how, “with self-confidence, she would take upon herself tasks in the various activities of the kindergarten, and exemplify them. She grew up in Ariel, where she studied at the Aliza Begin elementary school and completed her studies with honors at the Ariel Comprehensive School for Realism, and at the end of July 1996 I joined the IDF and it was only natural for her to be sent to a course for infantry instructors. On August 10, 1996, less than a month after she enlisted, Hannah fell ill during her service in a road accident that took place on the Trans-Samaria Highway, and was brought to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Brothers and sisters – Zehava, Aryeh, Tiran and Shai (Shabtai) About a year after her fall, her sister, Shani (Sarah), was promoted to corporal after she fell. The commander of the unit where Hannah served, wrote to her family: “We did not get to know her very closely, but we managed to recognize a soldier with a high motivation, who aspires to exhaust herself, to contribute, to achieve and excel.” After her death, the family gathered letters and poems written in memory of I and published them in the book. From the words of all the writers emerges the image of a child – diligent and diligent girl, always volunteering to be a “Torah” and fill positions. “Always with a smile and a great desire to help others.” “She had a rare quality of listening to her friends, patience and kindness, who knew no bounds.”
