Alkalai, Rina
Satisfied and good. She was born on Wednesday, February 12, 1959. In the village of Kadima, she studied for six years at the local school. Afterward, she moved to junior high school in Hadasim Youth Village and studied there for three years. Rina, who was a diligent and serious student, did not settle for her accomplishments and asked to finish her matriculation exams. And succeeded in this mission after three years of study in the humanistic track at Beit Berl in Kfar Saba. The parents were very pleased with their daughter, she was a quiet and devoted girl to her family, and whenever she came on holiday from her studies she would help manage the house. She also discovered her kindness and willingness to help others in her relations with her classmates. Her two favorite hobbies were reading books and listening to songs on the radio. Rina was recruited at the end of August 1977 to the IDF and did basic training in the Nahal Brigade. She was later assigned to the Signal Corps and studied the wireless profession. Soon she was able to appreciate her skills, and she rose to the rank of Corporal, and then she went to the Armored Corps School of Armored Corps, and as a liaison instructor, it was not a year since she was drafted into the IDF. She fell during her service – on the 17th of Tammuz, 17.7.1978)). She was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kadima, her native village. Survived by her parents, two sisters and two brothers. Rina’s commandant wrote to the bereaved family: “Rina embodied the image of the devoted daughter, the modest girl and the good guide, who always fulfilled her task professionally and energetically.” We, in the liaison section, commanders and counselors, will never forget Rina.
