Algarbeli, Meir


Meir, son of Dina and Shlomo, was born on 3 November 1951 in the city of Wazen, Morocco, and immigrated to Israel with his family in February 1963. Meir was drafted into the IDF in early February 1970. He was assigned to the Medical Corps and completed a course for combat medics, and served as a sergeant for sergeant service, and during the Yom Kippur War Meir participated in battles against the Syrians in the Golan Heights, On October 24, 1973, Meir was hit and killed in an exchange of fire with the Syrians in Tel-Trakha, where he was brought to eternal rest in the Tiberias cemetery, leaving behind his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
