Alexenberg, Shmuel-Ya’akov


Son of Sima and Avraham. He was born in 1913 to a family with many children in Bessarabia, Romania. In 1929 he immigrated to Eretz Israel, where he joined the Gordonia organization. He went to work in the Galilee moshav of Yavne’el and worked in the Galilee settlements for a year and a half, and finally moved to Rehovot where he worked as a volunteer and joined the Hagana organization. On March 12, 1939, he was shot while on duty in Rehovot. He went to Hadassah Hospital in Tel Aviv and died a short while later; he was laid to rest in the Rehovot cemetery.
