Albuquer, Yigal
Son of Elders to Zivia and Meshulam. He was born on 2 February 1968 in Jerusalem, was the brother of Ilan, Hagai, Benjamin and Shlomo Yigal studied in his hometown, elementary school and junior high school “Rene Kassan” and successfully completed his studies at the ORT high school, At the end of July 1986 Yigal enlisted in the IDF. He served as a car mechanic and was attached to the Command Engineering Division of the Central Command. After a year of acquaintance, Yigal married his wife, Orit, and a few years later their only daughter, Mor, was born. At the end of June 1996, Yigal enlisted in reserve duty. On July 7, 1996, Yigal fell to the cemetery on Mount Herzl, where he was survived by a widow and a daughter, parents and four siblings. Lipkin Shahak: “Yigal, of blessed memory, served as a mechanic in the Engineering Corps of the Central Command and was described by his commanders as a professional soldier who performed his duties in the best possible way. And the commander of the unit wrote: “In the short periods of time we were introduced to, we discovered a wonderful man, an exemplary soldier, a first-rate professional, who performed all his duties to the best of his abilities and to the satisfaction of his commanders. In memory of their son, the family established a public garden bearing Yigal’s name in Jerusalem, his hometown.
