Albert Reuven


Son of-Eliezer and Sarah. Was born on December 29, 1936, to a mother born in Turkey and a father of Russian origin. He was the only child of his parents, who had two daughters. In 1948 he immigrated to Israel with his father and in the framework of “Youth Aliyah” joined the kibbutz. After a while, his mother and two sisters immigrated and the whole family lived in a transit camp near Hadera. Reuven first studied at the workers’ farm in Petah Tikva and afterward at Ramat Hadassah. During the interim period, which was between the end of his studies and his enlistment in the IDF, he worked and contributed his share to support his family, and was drafted into the IDF in August 1956 and served in the Armored Corps. After being released from regular service, he was hired at the Alliance tire factory in the Radial Tire Export Department. Over the years he specialized in his work and advanced in it. In 1966 he married a wife and established a home. A year later his daughter Iris was born. ReuSon of did not have many demands, and he only wanted a peaceful family life. He liked to help his friends, fish and enjoy a quiet and peaceful life. He spent the Six-Day War as a soldier in an armored workshop and went through the war unharmed. He also worked in his work, and in 1971, at the request of the factory management, he went to a course for department heads. Before the end of the course, in March 1971, he was called to reserve duty. On the 7th of Nissan 5731 (1971) he fell during his service. The day before he called his sister-in-law and asked her to give it to his wife, because everything was fine with him and that he would be home to Seder, but he did not get it. He left a wife and a daughter. He was laid to rest in the Hadera cemetery. His name was immortalized in a book dedicated to the fallen of Hadera and engraved on the memorial plaque in the city.
