Al-Saraya, Bassam
Son of Amatera and Ayyad. Was born on October 15, 1984, to a large Bedouin family, most of whose sons serve in the IDF, a son of the Abu Juweid tribe, located in the Arad Valley, south of the village of Kuseifeh, in the Bedouin Diaspora in the south of the country. Who was serving in the Gaza Strip, was seriously injured when the tank he was traveling in was loaded with explosives, but despite his injury and the loss of his two tank friends, he demanded to return to his post. He joined the unit and continued the family tradition, and upon his enlistment, on March 15, 2004, Bassam was stationed in the infantry and sent to his home After completing basic training at the base of the Southern Command training course, Bassam underwent a one-and-a-half-month reconnaissance course, followed by a Red Division, the regional division responsible for routine security along the southern border of Israel. The corporal Bassem al-Saray’a was killed on December 11, 2004, during an operation in the Faran region of the Arava, and that night a force from the “Karakal” battalion left the “Eshet” post in a “Hammer” Warning received within the perimeter fence on the Jordanian border. A medical team summoned to the scene was forced to die. His three friends traveling with him in the jeep were lightly injured. Bassam was twenty years old in his fall. He was laid to rest in his village of Kuseife. Survived by his parents and ten brothers and sisters: Salem, Muhammad, Aida, Sabha, Nagha, Abd Salem, Raida, Basma, Zahi and Naif.
