Al-Abed, Ramez

Son of Mansoura Kafaya and Hassan. Born on November 23, 1988 in the city of Rahat in the Negev. On March 25, 2007, Ramez enlisted and began his training as a combat soldier at the Givati ​​Brigade training base. In September 2007, upon completion of his training, Ramez was assigned to the Bedouin Desert Patrol Battalion and joined his colleagues in the Gaza Strip. On December 27, 2009, when Ramez was waiting at the Be’er Sheva mall for a ride to his unit, an argument broke out between him and one of his friends. The friend loaded his weapon, fired at Ramez and killed him. First sergeant Ramez al-Abid fell during his service on 27.12.2009. He was twenty-one years old. He was laid to rest at the Al-Huzeil cemetery. Survived by his parents, sister and brother.
