Son of Karin and Mordechai. Born on December 20, 1966 in England, he spent most of his youth in London, where he studied and was educated from kindergarten to high school, and was educated in religious institutions in his childhood, And on the heritage of Israel, and his parents made sure that he would get an idea of prayers, holidays and Saturdays, even though the house he grew up in was not particularly religious, and he felt that he belonged to the country and dreamed of the day he could live in it and serve in the army. His unique character attracted many friends and made him always the center of attention, and he took every opportunity to visit Israel. In August 1983, he immigrated with his family to Israel, where he began a crisis, felt nostalgia for his friends and returned to his childhood for a few months before returning to Israel. In a class of new immigrants, who did not like this period of study and was impatient with the recruitment, and in October 1985 his expectations were fulfilled and he was drafted into the IDF, to the Givati Brigade. Despite the difficulties, he had a strong and genuine desire to contribute as much as he could. He loved the service and passed it on as an experience. He had principles that he did not give up, like the love of others and helped everyone who needed and often defended the weakest in the group. He was a glorious soldier. On the 27th of Tammuz 5748 (27.6.1988) Roni fell in the line of duty. During an open target exercise held on Mount Boker, he was injured in a training accident. He was buried in the military cemetery in Holon. Survived by his parents, brother and sister – David and Iwo. One of his friends wrote: “The sorrow in the Lev does not give a rest, it hurts and pinches, it’s just hard, it’s hard to believe, to think that only yesterday we talked about palaces, and we built everything in the sand.
