Akiva, Amnon


Ben Turkia and Tzadik. Was born in Gedera on 25.5.1955 and studied at the Mizrachi School, where he studied mechanical mechanics at a pre-army boarding school, and was a quiet, modest, industrious soldier. His hobby was sports, especially Judo, and for two years he was an employee of the IDF and served as a mechanic in his unit. Amnon fell during his service on the day of Tammuz 5740 (13.7.1980) and was laid to rest at the cemetery in Gedera. He was 25 when he died. He left a wife, mother and eight brothers and sisters. His family commemorated his name by donating a Torah scroll to the “Tree of Life” synagogue in Gedera.
